Traditional holistic chinese medicine now at PCU college of holistic medicine
With increased recognition of traditional Chinese medicine and its many benefits, PCU College of Holistic Medicine offers a Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (TCMP) Program meeting all of the most up-to-date standards set by of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia (CTCMA).
The PCU College of Holistic Medicine is located in Burnaby at Metrotown. With an on-site TCM Clinic, students have a perfect environment to complete their clinical internship. An impressive feature of this program is that students may complete it in three years instead of the usual four years.
This accelerated program not only meets provincial minimum requirements for TCM training, it exceeds them! Graduates are prepared for the provincial TCM examinations to quickly become registered practitioners. Professional working environments in TCM range from private practice to working in integrative medical facilities, healing and wellness centres.
The curriculum is a perfect balance of theory and practice and has been coordinated by a Harvard University graduate with a Master’s Degree in Education. It provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the modalities, diagnosis and treatment of traditional Chinese medicine.
Courses include: History of TCM; Classics of TCM; TCM Medical Principles and Diagnosis; TCM Internal Medicine; Western Medicine Terminology, Principles and Diagnosis; Acupuncture Theory and Techniques; Herbal Principles and Prescriptions; Tui Na (Chinese Massage); Shi Liao (Food Cure) and Qi Gong (Exercise). These courses are offered in English, Korean, and Chinese.
All TCMP instructors at PCU College of Holistic Medicine are experienced in the field and have recognized degrees in Acupuncture, Herbology and/or Traditional Chinese Medicine. They are all certified members in good standing with CTCMA.
